At SureStride Education, we believe in nurturing potential, inspiring confidence, and offering personalised support to help every learner take meaningful steps toward their goals.
SureStride Education is an extension of the values behind SureStride Equestrian, where we support riders and horses with balance, freedom, and confidence. Just as every pony and rider is unique, so is every learner. Whether you're a young person finding your path, A School looking for a calming, therapeutic learning avenue for your students or a parent exploring alternatives to mainstream education, SureStride Education is here to walk alongside you.
As a home-educating parent, I understand the importance of education that's flexible, engaging, and relevant to real life. My journey has been shaped by a diverse career and a deep belief in helping people find confidence and clarity in their learning.
In my early career I worked as a recruitment consultant for both Manpower and Huntress, supporting individuals in identifying fulfilling career paths and recommending the learning and training opportunities to help them succeed. This practical, person-centred approach to progress remains at the heart of what we do at SureStride Education.
I've also trained with Brian Mayne, a leading expert in goal mapping, and incorporate his techniques to help students visualise their ambitions and take clear, structured steps toward achieving them.
Informed by Training, Inspired by Vision
I qualified for my EAL journey through TEAL CIC on their Professionals Course — an organisation I've long admired for their holistic, learner-led approach to education and wellbeing. Their work strongly resonates with my own values, and I'm proud to integrate their insights and accredited courses into the work I do with students and families.
A Life Shaped by Horses
Coming from an equestrian family, horses have always been part of my life. I was strapped into the saddle of a Shetland pony at just 18 months old, and I've never really stepped away since. Horses have taught me patience, empathy, and the importance of learning through feel and connection — values that flow into every aspect of my teaching.
I am a qualified Enlightened Equitation teacher, trained in the classical principles of soft, balanced riding. I also hold certification in the Franklin Method for Equestrians, using both approaches — often with the aid of an equisimulator — to help riders develop feel, awareness, and effective movement.
Our horses are trained regularly and are very much the centre of our family life as much as our professional life, so as well as regular handling they are also very very much loved and we consider their relaxation and downtime with plenty of fuss and attention as important as any training, We have come to learn and appreciate there personalities, likes and dislikes and believe it is important to learn to 'listen' and observe them - this is something that we enjoy introducing to our students - the quiet language of horses!
One of the most beloved members of our team is Champagne Truffles — a rare and gentle Eriskay pony, affectionately known as Truffs. She has an unmistakably calming aura and adores human company. Over time, it's almost become a catchphrase around here that "your day is always better if you hug a Truffs" — and we think that's absolutely true! Whether she's standing quietly beside a nervous student or simply grazing nearby, her presence brings peace, reassurance, and a quiet kind of magic to the day.
Education That Fits Real Life
At SureStride Education, we don't just deliver lessons — we guide journeys. Whether your focus is academic, vocational, or personal, we offer support that's grounded, accessible, and genuinely empowering.
With a strong belief in self-directed, supported learning and a commitment to meeting people where they are, we help learners build the confidence and resilience to stride forward — at their own pace, on their own path.
